Types of Warehouses

  • A Normal Warehouse type is the most common type of warehouse, and refers to a typical in-house facility in which you store your products.
  • An FBA Warehouse type is associated with products that are stored at an Amazon Fulfillment Center.
  • An Interim Warehouse represents inventory that is in-transit between tow warehouses, like a Normal warehouse and an FBA Warehouse. This means that when shipping a product from your Normal warehouse to an FBA center, SellerCloud will track your shipment by placing it in the Interim warehouse. When SellerCloud is notified by Amazon that the shipment has been received, the inventory will transfer into the FBA warehouse automatically.  You can create multiple interim warehouses to be assigned to different shipments. For example, you can create a interim warehouse called “In transit to FBA warehouse for FBA,” and another interim warehouse named “Company Truck” for when transferring inventory from one physical warehouse location to another.
  • A DropShip Warehouse type is typically used for vendor feeds. Inventory in the dropship warehouse will not be included in weighted average calculations for average cost.

Sellable and Unsellable

If the warehouse is marked as Sellable, all inventory in that warehouse may be sold, provided that the individual products' selling criteria are met.

If the warehouse is marked as Unsellable, all inventory in that warehouse will not be included in the product's available inventory. However, its inventory will be included in the product's total physical inventory count.

Please note: By default, orders reserve inventory from the default warehouse. If the default warehouse is unsellable, the reserve will not be included in the available inventory calculation, which may lead to overselling. On Company Settings > Channel Warehouse, you can control from which warehouse inventory will be reserved from order per channel.

Please note: You will be allowed to create FBA Inbound Shipments using inventory in a given warehouse only if the option "Allow to use qty for FBA Shipments" is enabled on that warehouse . By default, the option is disabled.
